We hope you all had a great Easter. We did, it started with Sarah Grace's school party and egg hunt. The moms hid the eggs and then the teachers brought the kids outside to find them. I use "hide" and "find" loosely because they were just tossed into the grass on the ball fields... But the kids had a blast. Sarah Grace definitely does not take after her daddy as far as her competitive side goes. If she was going for an egg and someone else was too, she stopped and let them have it every time. At the end, other parents were giving her eggs from their kids' baskets because she only had a few. But she had fun. Afterwards we all went in for an Easter lunch and the Easter Bunny dropped by.

On Easter Sunday, we woke the girls up early and got them dressed and then brought them down to see what the Easter
Bunny had brought. Sarah Grace was so excited, she couldn't stand having to wait while I got Charlotte dressed. When we got downstairs she tore into her basket, which was everything Barbie, plus a bathing suit and some candy. Charlotte, at first, was more interested in SG's goodies than her own, so we helped her dig into her basket. She got a chocolate bunny, a few little toys, a bathing suit and some little T shirts. She liked her Elmo toy the best. She tried to sing the Elmo song when she saw it.

The first week at home with ducks it was great. They were cute, but messy, but had no odor. They liked to go outside and play. They'd stay right with me like I was the mama duck. :) They
slept all night with a stuffed duck I got for them and they'd get so excited when they saw me. The second week was a different story entirely! They tripled in size and mess, and quadrupled in noise
and odor. The second week felt like a month. The original plan was to keep them until they got older and put them in our lake.... Then we found out you have to teach them to swim and they can't be released until they are 8 WEEKS old! We had 5 more weeks to go. And did I mention they were living on my kitchen counter in a Rubbermaid container?! Krista had had enough duck lovin' too so she took it upon herself to find them a new home. So, they are now happy residents of the Yellow River Game Ranch.

The week after Easter, we had our church egg hunt at our house. The kids had a great time. We timed it perfect because as soon as we finished the bottom fell out! It poured! So the picnic part of the day moved indoors. We had about 12 kids and their parents and Jonathan brought the girls. Sarah Grace did better this time, she found about 18eegs, all on her own. Charlotte found a few too, with a little help (grass phobia). ;0)
