Let's go to the circus!

Let's go to the circus! This year we made it family (and friends) affair. There were fifteen of us. My whole family, Krista's sister-in-law and boyfriend and Krista's friends, the Purcells. We all caravaned down there and got dinner on the way. We had to get there early because the girls wanted to see the pre-show festivities. So we got there, got our clown noses on and walked around the arena. The girls tried on circus clothes, watched some acrobats and saw Kelly Anne, the elephant, paint a picture. Then is was time to head to our seats.
We had great seats. We had the first row, center, of the upper level. It was perfect for all of the kids. There was no one in front of us, just an open rail, and they had room to run back and forth. It was all of the kids' first time to the circus, except for Sarah Grace. She had gone when she was 3 & 4. But all the others we amazed. Especially Charlotte. She just stood with her chin resting on the rail and watched in silence for the longest time! She'd dance and clap... she was really into it.We all had a good time. My grandparents went with us too. It was fun being there with them because they were the ones that took us to the circus every year when we were little. They had a great time. My Pawpaw wasn't feeling too good but really enjoyed himself. After a while the novelty had worn off and it was time to hit the concession stand. The girls wanted a snow cone. So we got snow cones, cotton candy (for me), candied almonds and drinks. It was not easy getting them to take turns with the snow cone. Charlotte was sure it was just for her. After snacks came the tigers and elephants. The girls loved them both. But the favorite, and mine came after the animals. MOTOBALL! The big steel ball that they ride motorcycles in. I've always loved it and the girls loved it too. I thought maybe the noise would bother Charlotte but she was AMAZED! It really is unbelievable to watch 7 guys ride around without crashing into each other. There was one last surprise for the girls. Glow toys. My parents and grandparents bought one for each of the girls. They were a hit. Literally. They'd push the button and then whoever was closest would get smacked in the face or leg by hard, plastic tentacles with shiny, hard, little lights. Fun. So, those kept them happy until the finale, and then we packed up and headed home.
